Congratulations David Cutler from Purplebricks Victoria on the sale of 3/62 Gourlay St, Balaclava.
The two bedroom apartment sold on the 26th of March 2018 for $635,000, which is above average as the median price for similar apartments in Balaclava is $572,000.
The spacious apartment was styled using furniture from a combination of our Nordic Coast and Mod Oz collections. The large living space was styled using cool grey furniture like the couch and side tables in order to contrast the white walls. Whilst the rest of the furniture was white with light timber finishes to ensure the space felt as large and bright as possible. We didn’t want to fill the space with dark tones as it could absorb the light being let in from the sliding doors which were such a selling point!
The bedrooms were styled with more colour to inject some warmth and character into the apartment. The main bedroom showcasing our bright blue ‘Gabriel’ cushions and ‘Dark Towers’ artwork. The second bedroom had a green theme with palm leaf soft furnishings and artwork, complimented by light timber bedsides and concrete lamps.

Selling successfully, the apartment most likely appealed either to a local first home buyer, investor or young couple starting out. We used contemporary and colourful selections from across our Mod Oz theme to make the apartment feel warm and welcoming.
If it were my apartment I would seek to make some changes like opening the wall between the living and dining room, updating the robes and turning the courtyard into a major feature with some clever landscape design and lighting. I would also seek to trim back large overhanging trees that shaded much of the courtyard to let more light into the courtyard.
